Mykyta Shalennyi worked at the project for about a year. The plot is based on more than 50 watercolor paintings. Using watercolor paintings and animation, Shalennyi transform the real world into the world of computer conventions.

The “Bridge” can be interpreted in the context of the events of the world’s colonial and post-colonial history, or considered as a metaphor of human search and existential problems. 

Lack of resources for survival, wars, starvation all constitute the result of tyranny policy and political and economic crises. However, escapism from oneself, from one’s own memory and one’s own traumas is not always the result of the global policy and social traditions. The artist notes that the idea of escape is subconscious, and the more a person is fighting it, the more it grows.

“The image of collective escape for me lies primarily in the dissatisfaction of people with the conditions of their life, lack of development and self-fulfillment opportunities, lack of protection. Escape, be it collective or individual, is a forceful, provoked displacement.
